Mrs. Rachel Murray - Music Director

The Woodington Middle School Band and Chorus will be under the direction of Mrs. Rachel Murray beginning in the 2014-2015 year. Mrs. Murray is a product of Wake County Public Schools graduating from Green Hope High School where she was an active participant in the All-County, All-District, and NC All-State Honors Band. 

 

She went on to recieve a Bachelors of Music, and a Bachelors of Science in Music Education from Western Carolina University. While at WCU she was a member and leader in the wind ensemble, trumpet ensemble, brass quinet, concert choir, civic orchestra, "Mountain Winds" community band, and the "Pride of the Mountains Marching Band".

 

Currently, Mrs. Murray is representing Woodington Middle School as the 2015-2016 Teacher of the Year. 

 

Mrs. Murray lives in Richlands, NC with her husband, Cameron, who is a member of the United States Marine Corps Band at Camp Lejeune and their two cats Gatsby and Buster. 

 

Mrs. Murray's professional affiliations include the National Association for Music Education, Music Educators of North Carolina, Eastern NC Bandmasters Association,  The International Trumpet Guild and Sigma Alpha Iota.
